Vacancies at Horizons Education

Headteacher

Following a recent successful HMI inspection, we are seeking an experienced, inspirational and experienced school leader to lead Horizons Education Independent School from September 2025.

We are looking for leaders with extensive senior leadership experience and a proven record of delivering outstanding educational provision. We have already invested into the school and have more exciting plans to come.  We believe that all young people should be enabled to achieve their potential regardless of whether they are in a typical mainstream education.

We aim to support young people to access a broad curriculum of studies.  Our school has a particular focus on young people who are unable to access mainstream settings due to ASD, anxiety and trauma. Uur teachers inspire and engage pupils, mixing individual 1:1 and small group classroom learning opportunities depending on their need and level or direct adult support required. Young people will study the core curriculum of Maths, English along with a full range of other curricula activities. We want our leavers to be confident, capable and compassionate young people. Developing a well-rounded individual isn’t easy. By the time young people leave us we hope the expectations and motivations will be driven by the young people having been supported and motivated by our staff. This will set their path to maturity as they transition onto their next stage of education, being prepared emotionally and intellectually. Working with the type of children that we have, role modelling is incredibly important. We must take our own mental health and wellbeing as a priority in order to pass this on.We take each day professionally but also enjoy it. We feel strongly that we spend a lot of our life at work so we need to enjoy it.Interviews will be held wb 16/4/25 (in order to meet resignation dates)Tours and meetings can be accomodated during Easter Holidays (if needed)To also take care of each other in many ways, we offer:· Free breakfast and lunch daily· Up to 5 wellbeing days a year· A collaborative ethos, working with other schools in our organisation and colleagues· Competitive salary· High quality CPD· Annual performance reviews with opportunity for development and salary increase· Staff laptop· Opportunities for career development and professional qualification opportunities.· A thorough induction process· Grounds and resources that can aid and support learning· Enthused team that think outside of the box· An opportunity to positively impact (to a great extent) the futures and lives of our children· A staff wellbeing and mental health focus throughout all our decisions· Free car parking· Uniform provided. Please register your interest with schooloffice@horizonseducation.org.Please attach a covering letter and CV.
