Our Provision for Secondary Schools
We like to maximise the attention we can give to each student and help them engage in a positve and rewarding educational journty. To facilitate this, we aim to work with students in groups of 4.
All students receive a weekly timetable that will include:-
English, maths, STEM, cookery, PE, PSHE, life skills, student voice, art and creative writing.
Monitoring Progress
All of our students receive a weekly review from subject tutors and this is readily available for schools.
When students begin their journey with us they complete a baseline assessment. This is then reviewed at the 6 week point and again at the conclusion of the course.
SAFEGUARDING STUDENTS
Safeguarding is at the core of everything we do at Horizons Education. We are conscious that many of our students are highly vulnerable for a range of reasons.
To ensure the strongest levels of support and protection for students we have 3 Designated Safeguarding Lead Teachers on staff.
Student Voice
We have one lesson per week dedicated to student voice. Students have the opportunity to discuss what they believe is going well and set personal targets for how they could improve. This information is added to their profile for school based review.
