Our provision for Primary aged children is delivered by qualified teachers who specialise in working with children who have struggled to engage with education.

Our staff also have extensive experience of working with the families of children in these situations, overcoming the barriers to education and helping all involved to make positive progress.

Our course

We can provide either short or long term placements that is tailored to the requirements of the school and the child.

Each placement starts with an initial assessment and concludes with a final assessment to provide evidence of a child's progress.

The Horizons Learning Journey

Our staff will provide each child with access to a core curriculum of maths and English and can have additional options including science, history, geography etc attached depending on the individual child.

In addition we will also provide a range of therapeutic lessons designed to provide opportunities for tangible, successful outcomes for the child (e.g. art/craft/design technology/computing).

For our primary students we are also able to offer access to our Forest School.

Tracking and Monitoring

Schools and agencies involved with the child will all be provided with a daily report that details engagement, progress and areas for further development.

Group size

We offer placements for either 1:1 or small groups of 2:1, 3:1 or a maximum of 4:1
